Bár egyelőre Magyarországra is csak a vakcinák híre érkezett el, mégis közöljük Mohammad Junusz Nobel-békedíjas bangladesi közgazdász és más Nobel-díjasok felhívását a kormányokhoz és nemzetközi szervezetekhez, hogy a szabadalmi jogok korlátozásával is járuljanak hozzá ahhoz, hogy a szegény országok állapolgárai is hozzájussanak a koronavírus elleni védelemhez.

I've joined hands with 24 other Nobel Laureates and over a hundred moral leaders on an urgent appeal to make Covid-19 vaccines a global common good, so pharma monopolies and patents don't get in the way of saving people's lives everywhere. Join the call to stand up for our right to health.

This is being discussed by governments at the World Trade Organization right now, but too many rich countries - from the European Union to the US - seem still willing to put the interests of pharmaceutical companies before the needs and rights of people around the world. With citizens coming together to call on our governments, we can get this agreed and get essential Covid-19 vaccines and treatments to all.

To governments and business leaders
:

"We call on you to urgently ensure access to lifesaving Covid-19 vaccines, treatments and equipment for everyone in the world. Patents should be lifted, technological knowledge shared freely and openly, and no profiteering allowed during this pandemic. Governments, scientists and pharmaceutical companies must cooperate and combine resources to ensure no one is left behind. The pandemic will not be over, until it’s over everywhere."

- Dr. Muhammad Yunus,
Nobel Laureate for Peace (2006)
